31 deaths tied to Hyogo asbestos plant

OSAKA (Kyodo) Thirty-one people who lived near a now-defunct asbestos plant in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, operated by major machinery maker Kubota Corp. died of mesothelioma, a type of cancer that has been linked to the substance, it was learned Sunday.
