By now just about everybody in El Dorado County has heard about naturally occurring asbestos. Like much of California, the county has the known carcinogen running along the serpentine faults.

In the 60's workers began to hear about the dangers of working around asbestos and the devastating effects of a cancer called Mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a cancer of the cells most frequently found along the lining of the lungs is still extremely deadly today.

A spaghetti dinner benefit for Lisa (Winklesky) Green who has been dealing with lupus for the past six years will be held at 3 p.m. at Mr. D s Bar and Grill, 5622 Grand Ave. The cost is a $10 donation. There will also be music and a silent auction at the benefit.
